COVID POLICY & RESTRICTIONS
Does Free Spirit Vacations require covid vaccinations?
While FSV does not require travelers to be vaccinated, vaccinations are required for some destinations depending on the country you are traveling to. Vaccination requirements are subject to change based on governmental requirements and safety guidelines.
Will I need to wear a mask on tour?
We require all travelers to wear a mask on tour IF and WHEN required by local law, other relevant authorities, or at the direction of FSV.
What if I get sick on tour?
Should a participant become ill during a trip, the guide(s) will evaluate their condition and assist them to access medical care as needed. This may include facilitating COVID-19 testing, and we also encourage travelers to bring their own Rapid Antigen tests from home as a precaution. Please note that FSV may need to isolate participant/s should they show sypmtoms of COVID-19 or other communicable diseases and this may mean their trip could be cut short or cancelled, with participant/s incurring additional travel and medical expenses.
If a participant tests positive for COVID-19, they will be assisted to leave the trip and to access medical care, if needed, at their own expense. Depending on the destination, they may also be required to isolate for a period of time. The rest of the group will be notified of the exposure and while we will not require everyone on the trip to test, we will encourage everyone to wear masks, to test, and to isolate to their comfort level.
We encourage travelers to bring their own rapid tests from home, wherever possible, and to be prepared to purchase tests, if required. Please ensure you have access to funds in case of this or other emergencies. A limited number of rapid tests will be available via the guides, but these cannot be guaranteed.
Canceling for fear of getting covid will not result in a refund.
How could Covid affect my trip?
Some aspects of your tour experience might be impacted by local restrictions such as businesses operating at reduced hours and/or reduced capacity. In some rare cases, we may need to adjust the itinerary. Restrictions and itinerary adjustments will be made at a comparable level.
Covid Policy
Please note that proof of vaccination, including boosters, may be a requirement of some international destinations. Be sure to check the travel and entry requirements carefully of the destination to which you are traveling, especially if you are not vaccinated. Regional requirements are constantly evolving, often with very little notice, and traveling unvaccinated could cause disruptions to your trip.
FSV cannot offer reimbursement to those unable to join a trip or take part in certain activities due to not meeting local, regional or international requirements. Travelers are responsible for knowing the entry requirements for the countries they will be visiting and transiting through during their adventure.
FSV also strongly recommends getting travel insurance for unforeseen events such as flight delays, baggage loss as well as an unexpected sickness or injury that could impact your travel plans.
FAQ
What is room sharing?
A twin-share room is a room suitable for two travelers with separate beds. All travelers will stay in twin-share rooms with a traveler of the same sex.
It is great for solo travelers as you’ll have an instant travel buddy and companion who is sharing the same joys and experiences as you.
As explained above, room sharing enables Free Spirit Vacations to bring you fun, convenient and affordable
group tours. Group tour prices based on twin share prices are cost-effective. This means you don’t have to break the bank to travel and can make more memories for your money!
People travelling in a group with friends and or family will be grouped together. Roommate matching is done as a courtesy and while most matches result in wonderful friendships, success is not guaranteed. If during the tour, you decide you would no longer like to share a room with your roommate you will need to request (and pay for) a single room at all accommodations.
If you are a very light sleeper or snore you may want to consider getting your own single room.
Can I come alone, or do I have to bring someone?
Come solo or bring a friend - it's completely up to you! Our group trips are specifically designed to connect travelers together so that you no longer have to wait on friends to travel. We typically find that at-least 80% of the group attends solo. Arrive as strangers, leave as friends!
What happens if I make my payments, but my roommate fails to pay? (This is a roommate you choose, not one we provide)
If we have an uneven # of guests and are able to match you with someone we will do so. If not, you will be responsible for finding a new roommate or must pay the additional cost for the room occupancy change as per what the hotel charges.
What is the average group size?
Our group trips typically range anywhere from 8-12 guests, depending on the style of trip and the country.
What is the average age?
Women on our tours range from age 25-65 years young.
When will I meet the others in the group I'm traveling with?
A good time to begin interaction with your fellow travelers is just after final payment. By then the tour is often sold out, everyone has procured air, and you can learn more about one another in advance of the tour. We will make a group event on FB for everyone to meet up.
What Meals Are Included?
On group tours, all breakfasts and some dinners are included. Other meals will be classified as "on your own", giving you an option to venture out and try different things if you like. What meals are covered will be outlined in the itinerary.
Do you make meal accommodations?
We can accommodate most diets, allergies and dietary restrictions. Just make sure to let us know prior to booking so you're comfortable with the arrangements. Prior to your arrival we will send out an inquiry form to gather all the necessary information to prepare for your trip.
While we will do our best to present options, Free Spirit Vacations is not responsible for any problems associated with food allergies or dietary requirements and restrictions.
When Should I Make Airline Reservations?
We suggest you wait until you receive your Final Invoice before purchasing your air; however, the decision to purchase air sooner is ultimately yours. Should the tour not operate, regardless of reason, you are responsible for any penalty's airlines may impose to rebook or cancel the ticket.
Do I need a Passport or Visa?
All international destinations, including Canada, require a traveler to hold a passport that must still be valid 6 months (in some countries 3 mo) after the end date of travel.
It is the client's whole responsibility to determine the need for and obtain travel visas. Free Spirit Vacations is not responsible for any issues arising from obtaining a passport or visa. Clients are responsible for providing their own documentation. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Is airfare included in the price?
Because women arrive from all over the world to begin their adventures, it would be impossible to include airfare in our prices.
Will I have any free time or time to book extra excursions?
Yes! We will have plenty of things for you to do on our trips, but we also want to make sure you have some down time. Time to relax, pamper yourself, enjoy an excursion, read a book or just do nothing! You're here to focus on you!
Why choose to go with FSV instead of planning my own trip?
You’ll have instant travel companions and you’ll be able to relax and let someone else do all the planning. No matter if you're a stay-at-home Mom, businesswoman, (maybe both), retired, or just busy with everyday life. We know that most women don't take enough time for themselves. This is your opportunity to not have to look after anyone, but yourself.
Let us take care of all details from start to finish.
What extras will I have to pay for?
Any items of a personal nature such as: phone calls, personal items bought, laundry, beverages and meals not stated in the itinerary, taxi and bus fares (for excursions on your own), international flights, passport and visa fees, etc. Tips for local guides and transportation will be covered in your package.
When will I receive the itinerary & final instructions for my trip?
Final Travel Instructions are emailed about 1 month before the tour begins. A roster of everyone on the tour is included, along with room-sharing assignments, contact information, and much more.
PLEASE READ the documents upon receipt to make sure you understand everything, and that the arrival and departure information we have on file is still correct. Contact your Tour Leader if there are any changes or you have questions.
Do you provide refunds?
No, we do not provide refunds. Each client is required to accept our Terms and Conditions before a reservation is accepted. We use your payments to prepare for your trip and to handle other costs associated with our operations. Therefore, we must strictly adhere to our cancelation & transfer policy for all participants no matter what the reason. Cancelations, Refunds & Transfers will be outlined on the booking page.
To protect your investment, each and every client is highly encouraged to purchase travel insurance.
GIVE BACK
About 15 years ago I was made aware of the realities of just how far spread human trafficking is. I was naive to the fact that it is a global problem happening in almost every country in the world, including our own. Human trafficking is where people are coerced into working in slave-like conditions and other forms of abuse and exploitation.
Their human rights are taken from them, along with any hope of a better future.
To help in aiding in the fight against human trafficking we're giving a percentage of every vacation tour package booked to a local organization in the country we'll be visiting.
When you vacation with us you're helping to support the efforts in bringing light where there is darkness for many.
